Damascus International Airport, Terminal 2

Terminal 2 is part of the first phase of the redevelopment of Damascus International Airport, led by a consortium headed by UCC Holding. Once all three terminals are complete the airport is planned to serve about 31 million passengers a year. I modeled and detailed about 850 tonnes of steel (frame, floor framing, roof trusses and connections) and produced the fabrication drawings.
- Gridded steel frame with columns, primary and secondary beams and floor framing
- Long-span lattice roof trusses over the terminal hall
- Bolted beam-to-column connections with plates, stiffeners and bolt groups
- Support to site erection: model and drawings checked against the frame going up
- Full scope: model, detailing and fabrication drawings issued for the workshop
